Resize in three steps
How to resize an image

- Download the resultChoose the output format and save the resized image.
Supported image formats
- Input
- JPEG/JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, HEIF, AVIF, GIF, BMP and ordinary single-page TIFF/TIF images.
- Output
- Auto, JPEG, PNG, WebP and, when browser encoding support is available, AVIF.
Auto keeps a supported source format when possible. Choosing JPEG replaces transparent areas with a white background. Animated GIF output uses the first frame after you confirm the change.
Your image stays private
Your browser decodes, resizes and exports the image on your device. UtiliBits does not upload it, send it to an API or store it. Exported images do not retain EXIF, GPS, IPTC or XMP metadata.
Need a different image change?
Use the Image Cropper to trim the frame, the Image Compressor for a KB or MB limit or the Image Converter to change only the file format.
Frequently asked questions
How do I resize an image?
Choose an image, enter new pixel dimensions or a percentage, then select Resize image. Keep the aspect ratio locked if you want to avoid stretching the image.
Which image formats can I resize?
Input supports JPEG/JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, HEIF, AVIF, GIF, BMP and ordinary single-page TIFF/TIF images. Output supports JPEG, PNG, WebP and AVIF when your browser can create it.
Can I resize an image without changing its proportions?
Yes. The aspect ratio is locked by default, so changing the width updates the height and changing the height updates the width.
Does UtiliBits upload my image?
No. Your browser reads, resizes and exports the image on your device. UtiliBits does not upload or store it.
What happens to animated GIFs and photo metadata?
An animated GIF can be resized only as a still image after you confirm that UtiliBits may use its first frame. Exported images do not keep EXIF, GPS, IPTC or XMP metadata, but visual orientation is applied before resizing.
