Frequently asked questions

How do I convert an image?

Choose an image, select JPEG, PNG, WebP or available AVIF output, then select Convert image and download the result.

Which image formats can I convert?

Input supports JPEG/JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, HEIF, AVIF, GIF, BMP and ordinary single-page TIFF/TIF images. Output supports JPEG, PNG, WebP and AVIF when your browser can create it.

What happens to transparency when I convert to JPEG?

JPEG does not support transparency, so UtiliBits replaces transparent areas with a white background. Choose PNG or another supported format if you need to keep transparency.

Can I convert an animated GIF?

Yes, but the result is a still image made from the first frame. UtiliBits asks you to confirm this before converting an animated GIF.

Does UtiliBits upload my image?

No. Your browser reads, converts and exports the image on your device. UtiliBits does not upload or store it.
