AVIF to JPG converter

Convert one AVIF image or a batch of up to 20 files to JPG.

Your AVIF images stay on this device. Your browser converts them without uploading them to UtiliBits.

Convert in three steps

How to convert AVIF to JPG

  1. Choose your imagesSelect one or up to 20 AVIF files.
  2. Convert the batchYour browser processes each file. A failed file does not remove successful results.
  3. Download the JPGsSave files separately or, with at least two successful results, download them together as a ZIP.

AVIF support depends on your browser

The utility checks whether your current browser can decode AVIF before conversion. If it cannot, conversion cannot proceed in that browser. The capability check happens locally, and UtiliBits does not upload the files or use a server fallback.

JPG output, dimensions and transparency

The output is a JPEG file with a .jpg extension. It keeps the decoded source dimensions and uses the UtiliBits high-quality JPEG setting. JPEG encoding is lossy.

JPEG does not support transparency, so transparent areas in an AVIF use a white background in the JPG. The new file does not preserve source metadata such as EXIF or GPS data.

AVIF sequences need confirmation

The utility detects supported AVIF image sequences. Because JPG output is static, it asks you to confirm before converting the first image or frame. It does not silently discard additional images or frames, and unrelated normal AVIF files in the batch can continue independently.

Batch conversion and ZIP downloads

You can select up to 20 AVIF files. Each successful JPG remains available if another file fails. Individual downloads stay available, and two or more successful results can be downloaded together as a ZIP. Conversion and ZIP creation both happen in your browser.

JPG file-size expectations

AVIF is often substantially more storage-efficient than JPEG, so a converted JPG may be larger than its AVIF source. This is an expected result of changing formats, not a conversion error.

If the JPG needs to meet a file-size limit, use the Image Compressor after conversion.

Your images stay on your device

AVIF images are converted in your browser and are not uploaded to UtiliBits, sent to an API or stored. Capability checking and ZIP creation also occur locally. Filenames and image data are not added to URLs, structured data, prerendered HTML, analytics or logs.

Use the Image Converter when you need PNG, WebP or another available output instead of JPG.

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert AVIF to JPG?

Choose one or up to 20 AVIF files, select Convert image or Convert images, then download each successful JPG. With at least two successful conversions, you can also download the JPGs together as a ZIP.

Can I convert multiple AVIF files at once?

Yes. You can select up to 20 AVIF files. A failed file does not remove successful conversions, and each successful JPG remains available to download.

Can I download converted JPGs as a ZIP?

Yes. When at least two images convert successfully, the browser can create a ZIP containing those JPGs. Individual JPG downloads remain available.

Does AVIF conversion work in every browser?

No. The utility first checks whether your current browser can decode AVIF. If decoding is unavailable, conversion cannot proceed in that browser, and UtiliBits does not upload your files or use a server fallback.

What happens to AVIF transparency?

JPEG does not support transparency, so transparent areas use a white background. The JPG keeps the decoded source dimensions and uses lossy, high-quality JPEG encoding.

Will JPG files be larger than AVIF?

They can be. AVIF is often more storage-efficient than JPEG, so a converted JPG may be larger than its source. This is not a conversion error.

What happens with animated or multi-image AVIF?

The utility detects supported AVIF image sequences. JPG is static, so you must confirm conversion of the first image or frame. Other normal AVIF files in the batch can continue independently.

Are my AVIF files uploaded?

No. Conversion, AVIF capability checking and ZIP creation happen in your browser. UtiliBits does not upload, send to an API or store your files, and the new JPG does not preserve source metadata such as EXIF or GPS data.
