WebP to PNG converter

Convert one WebP image or a batch of up to 20 files to PNG.

Your images stay on this device. Your browser converts them without uploading them to UtiliBits.

Convert in three steps

How to convert WebP to PNG

  1. Choose your imagesSelect one or up to 20 WebP files.
  2. Convert the batchYour browser processes each file. A failed file does not remove successful results.
  3. Download the PNGsSave files separately or, with at least two successful results, download them together as a ZIP.

Lossless PNG output with transparency

The converter creates a lossless PNG at the decoded WebP image's original dimensions. PNG supports transparency, so the conversion preserves transparency from supported WebP images. It does not add transparency when the source has none.

The new PNG does not preserve source metadata such as EXIF or GPS data.

Animated WebP files need confirmation

The utility detects animated WebP files. Because ordinary PNG output is static, it asks you to confirm before converting the first frame. It does not silently discard animation, and other static files in the batch can continue independently.

Batch conversion and ZIP downloads

You can select up to 20 WebP files. Each successful PNG remains available if another file fails. Individual downloads stay available, and two or more successful results can be downloaded together as a ZIP. Conversion and ZIP creation both happen in your browser.

PNG file-size expectations

PNG output is lossless, but WebP is often substantially more storage-efficient. A converted PNG may be larger than its WebP source. This is an expected result of changing formats, not a conversion error.

If the PNG needs to meet a file-size limit, use the Image Compressor after conversion.

Your images stay on your device

WebP images are converted in your browser and are not uploaded to UtiliBits, sent to an API or stored. ZIP creation also occurs locally. Filenames and image data are not added to URLs, structured data, prerendered HTML, analytics or logs.

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert WebP to PNG?

Choose one or up to 20 WebP images, convert the files, then download each successful PNG. With at least two successful results, you can also download them together as a ZIP.

Can I convert multiple WebP files at once?

Yes. You can select up to 20 WebP files. Each successful PNG remains available if another file fails or needs confirmation because it is animated.

Can I download converted PNGs as a ZIP?

Yes. When at least two files convert successfully, you can create and download a ZIP containing those PNGs. The browser creates the ZIP on your device.

Is transparency preserved?

Yes. PNG supports transparency, and the converter preserves transparency from supported WebP images. It does not add transparency when the source image has none.

Will PNG files be larger than WebP?

They may be. PNG output is lossless, while WebP is often more storage-efficient. A larger PNG is an expected result of changing formats, not a conversion error.

What happens with an animated WebP?

The converter detects animated WebP files and asks you to confirm before converting the first frame to a static PNG. It does not silently discard animation, and other static files in the batch can continue independently.

Are image dimensions and metadata preserved?

The PNG keeps the decoded image dimensions. The converter creates a new PNG and does not preserve source metadata such as EXIF or GPS data.

Are my images uploaded?

No. Your browser converts the WebP images and creates any ZIP on your device. UtiliBits does not upload the files, send them to an API or store them.
