How to convert text case
Type or paste text, then choose a writing or developer case. The result updates as you type. You can copy it or use it as the input for another conversion.
Writing cases
Uppercase and lowercase change every cased letter. Capitalise Each Word changes the first cased letter of every word. Alternating case switches case across letters, while inverse case swaps the case of each cased letter.
Title Case and Sentence case
Title Case uses a deterministic, general-purpose English rule with common minor words. It preserves common technical acronyms such as JSON, API, HTML, CSS, URL and UUID, but it does not follow every editorial style guide or recognise every acronym. Sentence case recognises normal endings such as full stops, exclamation marks and question marks, then applies a deterministic general-purpose transformation rather than full natural-language analysis.
Developer naming conventions
Convert identifiers to camelCase, PascalCase, snake_case, SCREAMING_SNAKE_CASE, kebab-case, Train-Case or dot.case. The converter recognises common boundaries in input such as hello world, hello-world, hello_world, helloWorld, HelloWorld and JSONParser. This is text tokenisation, not programming-language parsing.
Unicode casing
Transformations use JavaScript's Unicode casing behaviour. Results can include Unicode-aware uppercasing and lowercasing, but they do not provide locale-specific linguistic casing for every language.

Frequently asked questions
What case styles can I convert to?
Writing options include uppercase, lowercase, Title Case, Sentence case, Capitalise Each Word, alternating case and inverse case. Developer options include camelCase, PascalCase, snake_case, SCREAMING_SNAKE_CASE, kebab-case, Train-Case and dot.case.
What is Title Case?
Title Case capitalises the main words in a title. UtiliBits uses a deterministic general-purpose English rule with common minor words, so it does not claim compliance with every editorial style guide.
What is Sentence case?
Sentence case capitalises the start of text and text after normal sentence endings such as a full stop, exclamation mark or question mark. It uses a deterministic rule rather than full natural-language understanding.
What is the difference between camelCase and PascalCase?
camelCase starts the first word with a lowercase letter, while PascalCase starts every word with an uppercase letter. Neither style includes separators between words.
What are snake_case and kebab-case?
snake_case joins lowercase words with underscores. kebab-case joins lowercase words with hyphens. SCREAMING_SNAKE_CASE is the uppercase underscore form.
Does the converter handle existing developer identifiers?
Yes. It recognises common boundaries in spaced, hyphenated, underscored, camelCase and PascalCase input, including acronym boundaries such as JSONParser. It does not parse programming languages.
Does it work with Unicode text?
Transformations use JavaScript's Unicode casing behaviour. They do not provide locale-specific linguistic casing for every language.
Is my text uploaded or stored?
No. Your text is converted in your browser and is not sent to UtiliBits, stored, or added to the page URL.
